Day 1: Unboxing
Trigger: first 2 scans on a new device.
- Open a step-by-step setup guide.
- Show the most important first-use steps.
- Offer a 1-click warranty registration form.
The QR code on the box should not die after unboxing. It can help with setup on day one, support maintenance later and introduce the upgrade path when the customer is ready.
Electronics and appliance brands already print QR codes on packaging, manuals and labels. QR Lifecycle turns those scans into a post-purchase journey instead of one static support link.
Trigger: first 2 scans on a new device.
Trigger: time-based lifecycle filter.
Trigger: time-based filter at day 365.
The customer only needs to know one thing: scan the code on the product. QR Lifecycle figures out whether they need setup, help, replacement parts or an upgrade offer.
The box QR opens the same setup page forever, even when the customer is past setup and looking for maintenance, parts or a newer model.
The same printed code can handle onboarding, warranty registration, support, replacement-part sales and upgrade offers as ownership matures.
This setup uses the same controls in the app: Create Smart QR code, Fallback URL, Routing rules, Repeat scan number, Time since first scan, Automatic UTM builder, Repeat scan gate and QR exporter. The QR on the box, manual or product label stays the same while the destination changes across ownership.
The fallback keeps the QR useful if a scan happens outside a defined ownership stage.
Use the fallback URL for the gap between maintenance and upgrade stages, or adjust the maintenance end date if the product needs a longer support window.
Set Count next scan after to 1 day so repeated refreshes during setup do not move the owner past onboarding too quickly.
Download the SVG for packaging and product labels, or the PNG for manuals, inserts and warranty cards.
The same code can onboard the customer, reduce support friction and create the next revenue moment when they need parts or an upgrade.
This works well for brands that already print QR codes on packaging, manuals, warranty cards or product labels and want those scans to stay useful throughout ownership.
